WOW...it's about time I take time to update my poor old blog! I really have missed you my friend...
I'm sad that it is already the end of June! I cannot believe that my first month of summer vacation is over! I must say, that with the hard ending of school (again! I haven't ended on a good note since I was out on maternity leave!), it made me need this time off even more. I'm not sure things are going to get better any time soon, but I am determined to stay positive and remember why I do what I do...for my kids! I truly love them all, and even though it is summer...I think of them often. On the other hand, I'm SO THRILLED to be a stay-at-home-mom for a little while! It's amazing how different Owen is from last summer...from just learning to walk and barely talking...to a very different non-stop running and talking little boy! I've been dreaming of being a photographer/stay-at-home-mom alot lately. Although I know it is not "in the cards" right now, hopefully someday I'll be able to learn enough and improve my skills to take pictures with more confidence. Until then...I'll keep calm and carry on!
Have I mentioned that summer rocks! It really does! Especially this week as new things have been happening for us. Brian started working first shift at St. E! Even though the very early mornings have been an adjustment for him (and me when the school year begins again), we've loved having him home each night this week. Although we are still trying to learn this new routine (as we've never worked the same hours), it almost feels like we are a real family now. Does that make sense? You know...dinner, play and bathtime with O...together. Owen is loving it too, as he constantly wants to play and wrestle with me, but of course daddy is better at that! We've been painting and getting all kinds of house projects done too! So nice to do things as a team (and it does make paiting much faster!).
OK...time for a photo recap of summer thus far (since that's what's important...right?)
Kirsten & Adam's wedding...(Thanks to Gigi for watching Owen!)...Love this photo of Susan and I back where our friendship began! (Love you girl!)
Just being O...and a picnic on the deck.
Family visits...My dad and Sandy, and Brian's parents.
Pool time...Mr. Potato Head fun...and our traditional "first day of summer break" breakfast on the deck.
Owen in our bed with "bar-bar & nilk" (aka breakfast bar and milk)...loving a lemon (even the rind) and his new obsession...Toy Story 2 (he likes it better than the first with those creepy toys!)
Well, that's a wrap of our first month of summer...and we are SO EXCITED to spend the weekend with family and friends! Have a safe and happy Fourth...more photos of the weekend to follow!
lots of love...
peace.
