It's hard to believe it's been since January that I've blogged. Really? Wow! Not even sure where to begin, and since the task seems daunting, I think I'll just do a quick list of what we've been up to...with of course some photos to share. I just uploaded 711 photos. Yep, and that's just since April. Have lots of editing I want to do, but will show you some to make it more fun. So, here goes...our life the past 4 months...
-We moved! Yep, we closed our both of our houses on February 28th! It was a crazy, whirlwind with rain, late movers that took way too many smoke breaks (since we were paying by the hour), boxes and more boxes. We were so happy to crash into our beds that night...and to begin this new journey in Harmony. Can't believe it's been over 2 months already! I realized that we don't have a single photo of the outside since we moved...but do that soon and share. We love our little home and feel so lucky!
-Speaking of February, I turned 35. Yep, turning the corner to 40 before I know it. I really don't know where time has gone. Seriously...it needs to slow down. But, it's been a great year thus far, and I can't wait for all that is to come.
-Work...work...work for both Brian and I. Hate this time of year with KY Alternate Assessment, but LOVE when it's over!
-illness...Yep, we all got hit with "the bug." Nasty colds and coughs. Fun stuff, especially croup for O. So glad that's over!
-A visit from Ronda ! Susan and I were so thrilled to see her for a few hours during her frantic "book week" here in Cincy, during our spring break! We needed it on so many levels, and I felt refreshed after it was over. Of course we had to celebrate her big success, with dinner with the kids. Saying goodbye was filled with tears, but I know that we'll always be close...no matter how far. Thanks so much for sharing this with us R! I'm so very proud of you and all that you've accomplished! Can't wait to get my autographed copy!
-A visit from Kelly and Emma! We LOVED every minute of having them here. The kids played together so well, and acted as if no time had passed since their last visit. Owen was the "cute-i-ful pirate princess" all week, while Emma was "captain jake!" They made us laugh...and cry as they said goodbye. Not only did the kids have fun, but I LOVED having Kelly here. We laughed, hung out and just enjoyed time together in the same state! Mom and Bill visited too, and enjoyed the kids...and adults! We felt so lucky to have this time together as family, and cannot wait to do it again as soon as possible. Time with family reminds me what really matters. Not all of the drama at work, or stress of day to day life, but those that are in your life and heart that make me feel complete. I love and miss you all lots, and wish Brian and Cory's family could have been here too. (I have LOTS of photos to share, but typepad is taking forever...and time is wasting.)
-Easter! We were so lucky to celebrate Easter with the annual Hartman Easter Egg Hunt at the farm before Easter. Always a good time with laughter and fun watching Lyndsay, Kate and Owen play. So grateful to be part of the family! We also participated in the Harmony Egg Hunt (on the 23rd), where Emma and Owen had a great time. It's so nice to be part of a family oriented community! On Easter Sunday, we (Kelly, Emma, Owen and I) spent some time with my Dad and Sandy who were traveling back home from my sister's house, then had Easter dinner when Brian got home from work, and more egg hunting with Mom and Bill. (holy run on sentence!) Such a great time with all of our family, as we cherish each moment living far away from everyone.
-On April 25th, our baby turned 3! I cannot believe it! I spend every birthday recalling the details of his birth, and feel even more grateful that we both survived HELLP Syndrome. Looking back I know how scary it was, and I will forever be changed by it. We first celebrated on April 23th (the day before Easter, and after the egg hunt...whew!) with our KY family and friends. Lots of good food, and laughter, and not to mention Buzz Lightyear cake. Owen was on cloud nine, and really enjoyed the day. So lucky to be blessed with our 3 year old, and to share his actual birthday with Aunt Kelly, Emma, Gigi and Grandpa! We played at the Cincy Children's Museum, and of course had more cake and presents! Thanks so much Owen, for being the best little boy a mama could ask for. Even during the hard times of tantrums, I love you to the moon and back!
-Happiness...since I mentioned illness, I also need to mention happiness. We have transitioned into our new home and are truly happy to be here. Happy to provide a good environment for Owen. Happy to make new friends and live closer to old. Happy to have family and friends over as often as possible. Happy to be able to do this for us...our little family of 3. Happy to be healthy (minus the little stuff), and happy that summer is just around the corner. As a working outside of the home mama, I long for summer to spend with O. I just cannot wait! I am making a conscious effort to "choose happiness everyday," admist the craziness of life. Even reminding myself and really trying to make it happen. Such a lucky girl...
Whew! I promise to add photos later (and blog more once summer is here), but typepad must be mad at me...it was taking forever so I stopped. I'll try to resize for web and see if it helps...
Feels good to be back...I've missed you and will be back again soon.
peace and love...
